Many patio doors are hook bolted to frames with zinc-aluminum white cast metal material, this is easily broken with a crow bar or even a large enough screw driver. In addition most patio doors can easily be lifted right out of the track they roll in.
Protecting Yourself against a Patio Door Attack
Door systems that have an active inner door can be barricaded by bars that fold down from the frame side of the track area by simply cutting a piece of wood and laying it down in the track area. CAUTION! Wood in the track can often be popped out of position by a rod being wedged under the wood from between the two doors.
